James Williard and Andrea Barnova

James has been performing since the age of four and at that young age, he knew he wanted to be an entertainer. James continued performing in shows such as "Everyman," "Wizard of Oz," "Pinocchio," and "My Fair Lady."

After high school he went on to study acting and performing in local productions of "Grease" and "Oklahoma." James moved to Wilmington, North Carolina to continue his studies in Theatre at UNCW. It was in Wilmington that James was able to experience acting in film and had a small role in the movie "29th Street." This experience brought him to perform in "Dark of the Moon," and "Peter Pan." It was then that he was introduced to Ballroom dancing and found a new passion.

James continued to study dance and received many certifications and teaching awards. He continued with musical theatre and had the lead role of Tony in "Copa Cabana" as well as other cameo's such as "Can Can." He worked with the Professional Theatre Group Spanish Lyric Theatre co. in Tampa Florida.

In 1998, he began competing in NDCA with partner Andrea Barnova. Together they have won and medalled at many competitions, including a bronze medal at USA Nationals. They were named Triple Crown Champions, FADS National Champions and they are World Master Finalists.

During the daytime hours, James has a "real" job where he works as an ICU nurse at Celebration Hospital. We are thrilled to have James on board at Raskin Dance Studios to offer his talents in the Ballroom style of classes.

Andrea Juklova was born 1971 in  Olomouc, Czech, and began skating at the age of 6 after being scouted by Czechoslovakian coaches while in kindergarten. By the age of 12, she was the Novice National Champion and was named to the Junior National team. Andrea and her partner, Dalibor Joura, competed in many International competitions and at age 13 were chosen to attend the National Sport Center in Prague. While it was difficult leaving her home and family, Andrea, with Dalibor, represented her country at International competitions at the Junior level.

Andrea skated professionally with Frederick Palluel and Lyndon Johnson before finding her new love, ballroom dancing, managed by the National Dance Council of America(NDCA). In 1998, she began competing in NDCA with partner James Williard. Together they have won and medaled at many competitions, including a bronze medal at USA National Championship.
